What is NurseShield, and how is the verification done?
NurseShield is the verification process every professional clears before listing. Five checks: (1) Aadhaar identity verification, (2) PAN identity verification, (3) face match against government ID photo, (4) nursing council registration cross-checked with the issuing council, (5) criminal background check. Government IDs are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at the field level. The verification status — including which checks passed and when they were last refreshed — is visible to families before booking. NurseShield is the floor of trust on the platform, never the ceiling.
What is CareScore?
CareScore is a live 0–100 trust score on every professional's profile. It updates from completed visits, verified reviews, on-time arrival rate, and continuous verification checks (NurseShield re-verification, complaint flags, professional response patterns). It is not an aggregated star rating. CareScore lets a family see, in one number, how a professional's record holds up over time. Higher is better; the calculation is documented in the platform's policy section.
How is CareStride different from existing home healthcare services?
Existing services in India are mostly agency-employer models — you pay the agency, the agency dispatches a nurse from their roster, and the relationship between you and the professional is mediated through phone calls. CareStride is a marketplace model: you book a verified independent professional directly, see their CareScore and credentials before booking, and get a visit-by-visit auditable record. AI matches you to the right professional based on six dimensions of compatibility. Phone numbers stay masked. Pricing is fully disclosed before booking. No hidden discharge fees. No surprise invoices. We don't employ caregivers; we engineer the trust infrastructure between independent professionals and the families who book them.
How does CareStride handle my data privacy under the DPDP Act?
CareStride is aligned with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Government IDs (Aadhaar, PAN) are encrypted with AES-256-GCM at the field level — not just at rest. Phone numbers between families and professionals are masked through Exotel virtual numbers and never directly shared. You retain rights of access, correction, erasure, and consent withdrawal under the Act. Health data is treated as sensitive personal data and is processed only for the purpose of fulfilling care visits and maintaining your dashboard record. Can I cancel a booking? What's the refund policy?
Yes. Bookings are refundable per the cancellation policy disclosed at the time of booking. The exact refund window depends on how close to the visit the cancellation is made — typically full refund up to a defined cutoff before the visit, partial after. Emergency bookings have separate terms. Refunds are processed via the same payment method used for booking. Full policy at /legal/refund-policy.
What types of care does CareStride support?
For home nursing: elderly care, post-surgery recovery care, paediatric nursing, chronic care management (diabetes, hypertension, post-stroke), wound care, IV administration, injection administration, vital monitoring, mother and newborn care. For home physiotherapy: orthopaedic rehabilitation (post-fracture, post-surgery), neurological rehabilitation (post-stroke, Parkinson's), sports rehabilitation, geriatric mobility. We do not provide doctor consultations on the platform — for that, please consult a registered physician. We do not dispense medications or medical equipment.
Does CareStride provide medications or medical equipment?
No. CareStride is a service marketplace, not a pharmacy or medical equipment supplier. Professionals bring a standard visit kit (BP cuff, glucometer, thermometer, basic consumables — the visit kit fee covers this) but they do not dispense prescription medications. For prescribed medications, please use your existing pharmacy. For durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, hospital beds, oxygen concentrators), please use a specialised equipment supplier. We can integrate with your existing care plan, not replace it.
